Greetings from Master Plan and our first day of NOT going anywhere!  It was a great day here in Elizabeth City - the sun was shining and it was in the mid-60's.  I got some work done and we did some laundry and grocery shopping and I know Paul enjoyed a day away from the helm.  Elizabeth City is known for its hospitality to boaters and they have certainly done the job!  One of the grocery stores runs a free shuttle for boaters - which was great for us.  We stocked up on some heavier items (cases of water, etc) while we had the luxury of a ride!  Our new friends Don and Sue joined us and we had a lot of fun.
Paul and Don talking about the Vineyard at the docks . . .

View from the "office" - we  backed into our slip and this was our view of the river - amazing.

This is our dock slip here in Elizabeth City - rose bushes and all - beautiful!

A little blurry - but here we are with Don and Sue - our new friends from Nova Scotia - at our favorite bar Thumpers after another shuffleboard match (we lost), some beers (okay, a lot of beers), and delish and cheap food .
As part of their welcoming committee, they host wine and cheese on the docks, tell great stories, and give all the ladies a rose!  They have a committee of volunteers called "rose buddies" who have been doing this for years.  More info on this tradition can be found by clicking -http://www.elizcity.com/rose/.

We just got back from our second night at Thumpers.  Don and Sue once again kicked our butts at Shuffleboard, but we had so much fun!

We're off tomorrow morning to continue South -our plan is to get through the Alligator River - but we'll keep you posted!  Thanks so much for joining us on this journey in cyberspace - you may not be here in the boat with us, but you're in our hearts.  Love, Jen & Paul
