Greetings from Cape May, NJ - what a cute little town. We are at the very southern tip of New Jersey. We pulled in here at around 4:00 PM after a relatively short day (40 miles) - fueled up (or as Paul and I say [pardon the language] "fed the bitch!") and settled into our slip at the Utsch's Marina. It was the first evening we've ended our trip in the light of day - rather nice for the First Mate! We walked to the grocery store, got a few provisions, then had dinner at a great little place called Lucky Bones. After showers, we're hittin' the hay as tomorrow will be an early morning. We plan to leave at 5:30 AM - head out the Cape May Canal into Delaware Bay through the C&D Canal and end up in the Chesapeake Bay by mid afternoon. We're leaving early for favorable tides - it makes such a huge difference in our gas consumption and timing.
I didn't take any photos in Cape May - not sure why - but here are a few from Atlantic City before we left today. Lisa (pictured with Paul) was a delightful woman who helped us with fuel and a good old "pump out" and then the Atlantic City skyline with the wind turbines - kind of cool.
We met another couple - Mike & Liz - from Long Island who are doing the same thing we are - they were in the Atlantic City Marina this morning in the slip next to us and then are in the slip next to us here in Cape May this evening! I am sure we'll bump into them again.
Good night - until tomorrow - love, Jen & Paul
