Morehead City, NC - Night #12

Ahoy from Morehead City, NC - We arrived here today at about 2:30 PM.  It was an easy day from Belhaven - 70 miles - beautiful rivers and canals.  The winds were pretty high from the north - but they were behind us so the conditions were quite nice.  The sun was shining and it was a great day.
A shrimp boat / processing plant along one of the canals

We also went by Jarrett Bay - which is a huge Hatteras compound - these boats were sparkling and new!
We also went by a few schools of Dolphins which was SO COOL.  It felt particularly warm today while on the water, but when we arrived to the marina, the wind was quite gusty and it felt cooler.

The marina here - Morehead City Yacht Basin - is quite nice and the docks are in great condition.  The town isn't as "charming" as the others - but there are lots of restaurants and a marine store in close walking distance.  We had dinner tonight at the Ruddy Duck - which is a wonderful restaurant where Paul enjoyed some of the best Jambalaya he's ever had and I had some delicious fish tacos!  Our waitress was from Marlborough, MA!  Such a small world - she came here in 1991 and never left, but her whole family is still up there.

We are at ICW mile marker 205 and Charleston is 469 - so we're getting closer.  Our plan is to go to Wrightsville Beach tomorrow which is mile 283.  We'll keep you posted!

Thanks again for following along . . .until tomorrow - with love, Jen & Paul
