Southport, NC - Mile 309

Greetings friends, family and/or followers!  :-)

Another beautiful day on the ICW!  We traveled about 65 miles today and are in Southport, NC at a great marina.  We arrived at about 3PM - we "fed the bitch," then settled into our slip.  One of the guys who works at the marina loaned us his car and we did a provision run to the Walmart Supercenter, which is about 2 miles from the marina.  A great Walmart and overall, everyone is super friendly.  We then showered and then had a great dinner at a "local favorite" - Mr. P's Bistro!  Fresh oysters and fresh tuna - I mean, does it get any better?

Here are some photos from our day:
Moon setting in the West early this morning - beautiful!
Shrimp / Fishing boats - you can see Master Plan's shadow on the white boat on the left.
We spent a lot of time waiting for three bridges today.  Here is the line behind us at the first bridge.
We head towards the first bridge at Surf City - this is a "swing" bridge.  This bridge opens every hour on the hour, so you have to time it just right to avoid a big wait.
Going through - leading a long line of sailboats!
You see some funny things along the ICW - how about this huge fake giraffe in this person's yard?
This is more typical of what you see along the ICW - nice houses, all with docks that have their smaller boats on lifts.
Our third bridge - Wrightsville Beach - we're in a big parade of boats to get through - this bridge opened also every hour on the hour.

So another great day - lucky us.  We appreciate your love, friendship, and support!  XO, Jen & Paul
