We purchased the Airstream from a couple in Port Charlotte Florida in March of 2024. We did not intend on getting it so soon, but it just so happened that it was the exact match for what we were looking for. It is a 2020 Airstream Classic 30-foot model. It was less than an hour from us and the exact color scheme we wanted. Looking back, we are grateful we purchased it when we did. It turns out that preparing to travel the entire country is a long process. We have already put almost 5000 miles on the rig.
In April we visited Sarasota Florida staying at the Sun Outdoors resort. Although the resort was not our cup of tea, we did a lot of fun things in Sarasota. We visited the Ringling Museum Ringling.org and really enjoyed the history of the Circus they were so famous for and the exceptional fine art collection the Ringling family procured over the years.
We also visited Myakka River State Park. We really enjoyed the elevated tree canopy walk. We also had fun looking at the alligators and Sand Hill Cranes.

Our favorite was going to the Polo match in Sarasota. It was their last match for the season on a Saturday night.

As I write this in March 2025, we are wrapping up our full-time careers and preparing for our big trip ending up in the Pacific Northwest this summer.
Stay tuned for our next post on our trip to the Top of Georgia Airstream Park in Helen Georgia.
